What your school needs to know about the latest PE Curriculum update
25 November 2025
A recent review of Physical Education has identified several upcoming changes to be introduced into the Curriculum. This review provided an important opportunity to elevate the role of physical education and to ensure that every child receives high-quality, inclusive PE that fosters confidence, competence, and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
The review highlights several key priorities:
1. Reassessing the aims of compulsory PE across all four stages
A stronger focus will be placed on:
-
Fundamental movement skills
-
Participation and enjoyment
-
Physical and emotional wellbeing
-
Improved overall educational outcomes
2. A new core enrichment offer
Every child should have access to a wide range of enriching experiences, including:
-
Sport
-
Civic engagement
-
Arts & culture
-
Nature & adventure
-
Essential life skills
These priorities reflect a shift toward a more holistic, inclusive PE experience.
How JB Sport & Education is preparing

Our goal is to ensure that every child we teach develops strong physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, and most importantly, a genuine enjoyment of PE. Our ever-evolving lesson plans will continue to promote inclusion, creativity, teamwork, and resilience, all while upholding our company ethos: more children, more active, more often.
