How we can help
We understand, now more than ever, that there is a focus on being able to demonstrate the sustainability of how schools are choosing to spend the PE and Sport Premium funding. As recognised in the guidance from AfPE, commissioned by the Department for Education, CPD has been identified as a key part of the approach;
"Continued Professional Development (CPD) is an effective and sustainable use of Primary PE and sport premium funding, as it meets the first key area; “increasing all staff ’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport“. CPD can be offered through various means; external training courses, coach-led training sessions. It is acceptable to engage the expertise of external coaches to provide teachers with the confidence and necessary skills to be able to deliver high- quality PE.”
PED+ has been designed to offer targeted support for teachers, improving confidence and quality of PE delivery. With weekly lessons, delivered in line with your school's curriculum, PED+ offers a flexible approach for your staff to be able to focus on the specific aspects of delivery where they feel they are most in need of support. By offering regular feedback, as well as tracking staff confidence, PED+ can provide clear evidence of how you are using your PE and Sport Premium Funding to meet the first key indicator in an effective and sustainable way.
PED+ also offers a variety of additional benefits to support the delivery of PESSPA. These include whole staff training opportunities either INSET or twilight, detailed lesson plans following a clear skill progression framework, on demand planning support, certified PE specific qualifications and access to PE cluster meetings to support PE leads in the role.
