If you’re aged 16-18 and interested in sports coaching, then we could have the perfect course for you.
This qualification is a 2 year programme for post 16 students. It is equivalent to up to 3 A Levels and is intended for those wanting to progress directly into employment as a coach. In addition, the breadth of content in this qualification allows learners to progress to a large variety of Higher Education and Degree level courses.
As well as studying sport, you will have access to our professional staff and facilities in the heart of the industry, where you will have the opportunity to develop your passion for sport.
A typical week involves, a mixture of theory work, practical sport, and Work Experience with JB. Learners work alongside highly trained staff to gain relevant experience of sports coaching and PE delivery.
Why Study with JB?
We feel it is important that students on this course receive relevant work experience that will aid their employability. Our students will therefore receive weekly work experience within our partner schools, where they assist with the delivery of our football academy, swimming academy and holiday courses.
In addition, students have the opportunity to complete two relevant industry specific qualificaions that create a pathway to a career in the sporting industry.
The delivery of the course is split between theory, work experience off site, practical coaching delivery and training sessions on site. The course is delivered at Horncastle Town Football Club with the theory elements from the clubroom and the practical sessions on the surrounding pitches and Astroturf.
There are numerous enrichment opportunities available to students throughout the two year programme.
We have created a well-rounded programme, allowing students to achieve UCAS points, and gain a wealth of practical experience and subject knowledge.
Students can progress on to a University course or begin a career within the sporting industry. JB is committed to aiding the development of talented and passionate individuals, and will look to recruit suitable students from the course to enroll on our apprenticeship scheme, where they will work towards full time employment.
